We are looking for camp leaders for Nytida Kasper Summer Camp!
We urgently need camp leaders for our farm in Östergötland, with work dates from June 28 to August 7 (or as soon as possible). There is an opportunity to travel to and from the farm by car from Lund. You will live and work at the camp with your colleagues. According to us, the most fun job in the world!
Great to see you here! Are you responsible, solution-focused, and creative? Do you enjoy working as part of a team? Do you still have a childlike spirit, enjoy playing, and cheering others on? Do you also have experience working with people with autism or intellectual disabilities? Then you are exactly who we are looking for!
About Nytida Kasper Camp
Children, teenagers, and young adults with Level 1 autism, Asperger's syndrome, and/or mild intellectual disabilities come to Kasper Summer Camp with the goal of having two fun summer weeks. Here, they get the chance to try new activities and meet friends in a safe and fun environment.
Kasper Summer Camp is part of Nytida, one of Sweden's leading providers within LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), SoL (Social Services Act), and school, focusing on support and services for people with disabilities and psychosocial issues.
As a camp leader, you are offered a varied and fun job. Our operations always start from the strengths, interests, and dreams of our participants, which means that activities and excursions vary from period to period.
About the role
As a camp leader, you work with 8-13 other camp leaders. You are responsible for planning and implementing activities, as well as engaging and motivating our participants. You are also responsible for care and support in areas such as hygiene, cleaning, and maintenance of local facilities, together with the staff group, as well as social documentation.
It is of utmost importance that you cooperate and communicate with your colleagues to maintain routines, ensure safety, and make the camp as fun as possible for our participants.
Working hours vary and include day shifts, evening shifts, and on-call shifts. Each period is approximately two weeks, and we would like you to work two periods during the summer.
The employment is a fixed-term position.
Workplace
As a leader at Kasper Summer Camp, you live together with your colleagues at the camp farm where you work. We have two farms in Skåne and one in Östergötland. The living situation can be described as simple but cozy, where you share a room with 2-3 other camp leaders.
The food served at the summer camp is simple, but since a cook is on-site, allergies and food preferences are of course taken into account.
Your experience and knowledge
Personal suitability is highly valued.
You are proactive, solution-oriented, and ready to take responsibility. The work may involve participants' interests, feelings, wishes, and needs requiring you as a leader to act quickly and initiate completely new or different activities. Rapid changes and participants with expectations require you to be calm, sensitive, flexible, and creative. You have a strong commitment to people and thrive working in a team.
It is highly desirable that you have experience working with children and young people or with people with autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disabilities. We work with clear pedagogy and low-affective handling, and experience in these areas is seen as a great advantage.
In your application, describe how your specific experiences can contribute to creating a good team and a fantastic camp summer. Remember that your hobbies can also contribute to a fun camp for our participants. Write about what you are good at and would enjoy teaching. Sports, games, and crafts are popular with us. Extra points if you can play role-playing games, D&D, and Magic :)
At camp, we drive cars to and from various excursions; a Category B driver's license and driving experience are required. If you state that you have a driver's license, you are expected to be able to drive the cars in the service.
